Rust tones using Wilder Products

This short article demonstrates some easy ways for adding rust tones to details containing a steel finish.
 
The products we will use are enamel based so you will want to start by adding an acrylic base coat such as Tamiya or Life Color.
 
Speckling is a great way to quickly create fine authentic looking rust tones while also giving a look of rusty texture to the part.
 
Rust effects can also be used to add contrast amongst different steel details.
 
Speckling is also great for subtly blending various tones.
 
You can use dry pigments to delicately blend different tones while also adding more shades of rust.
